Every spring, I feel it. The gentle urgency. The wake-up call. The pull to plant something that matters.

So this month, I’m sharing EarthKind’s story—and my own—through three acts that mirror the rhythm of nature, and the evolution of a kind life.

ACT 1: Spring’s Wake-Up Call

“Nature doesn’t wait until it’s too late—neither should we.”

On Earth Day, April 22nd, 2000, EarthKind® was born. I was a mom, a farmer, and an accidental inventor trying to solve a very real problem: rodents invading our tractor cabs and tack room. The solutions at the time were toxic, messy, and out of alignment with how I wanted to live.

So I trusted what I knew best—nature—and created a new way forward.

Today, we’re in 35,000+ stores and counting. But the mission hasn’t changed:

Prevention is protection. And peace of mind is the payoff.

Spring is your reminder to prepare—not panic.

To start small, act early, and protect what sustains you—your home, your headspace, your health.

ACT 2: Refresh & Reinforce

ACT 3: Legacy in Bloom

This month, EarthKind turns 18. And just days from now, I’ll return to the Great Plains—where this whole story started—to welcome our seventh grandchild, Lucia, into the world.

The timing couldn’t be more beautiful.

New life. New season. A reminder that what we build today becomes what we leave behind.

I don’t know what the team’s planning for our birthday this year (we’ve delivered Fresh Cab to NYC elevator shaft workers at dawn, and shared pizza in the NYC subways, donuts to our friends at TSC…), but I know it’ll be rooted in the same thing it’s always been:
